Sorry about that, I did mean 5722SS1.

Is it possible that you previously downloaded SI35849 and then deleted
the save file without installing it? How are you downloading SI35849?
Try SNDPTFORD PTFID((SI35849)) REORDER(*YES)

SI35849 is for 5722SS1 so I'm pretty sure you have that installed.

What do you get when you do DSPPTF LICPGM(5761SS1) SELECT(SI35849) ?

Tried that. The PTF wouldn't apply (already there or associated software
not installed). The others listed are already there.

Get this one - SI35849, applied. Call IBM if you must. Read the

I downloaded SI28697 and tried to do a ptf load on it and got the same
response as SI35849 -
'no ptf copied' - either the ptf was already installed or the software
it
pertained to was not loaded.

I will try option 8 after hours to 'install a ptf package'. Previously
35849 failed with this option also, for the reason stated above.

Buddy.McClean@xxxxxxxxxxxx 12/16/2009 12:55:37 PM >>>

I thought 28697 was in 99540, applied in July. Now I can't find the
reference. The confusion there is why won't SI35849 apply, if it or
SI28697 are not installed already.

42601, 43157, and 43526 also show perm applied ( active?)

Should I try to apply 28697, even though it rejects the application of
SI35849?

pmassiello-ml@xxxxxxxxxxxx 12/16/2009 11:13:01 AM >>>

You should be able to apply SI28697. Are all the pre-reqs for this PTF
applied AND ACTIVE?

What cumulative level were you on before you started all this?

PRE 5722999 545 MF43157

B2924_01 does show to mount ok, vol cap shows at 4.5gig. All looks ok.

I'm coming from 5.4.5, I find PTF MF42601 and MF43157 already applied. I
also find SI28697 ( supersceded by SI35849). But I don't find SI35849. I
downloaded SI35849 and tried to apply, but said not applied. Possible
reasons were either it was already there or it applied to a non-existent
product.

pmassiello-ml@xxxxxxxxxxxx 12/16/2009 7:30:19 AM >>>

Buddy,

When I have seen this before, the DVD is B2924_01 wasn't found in
the set. Can you work with the image catalogue ad make sure this volume

can
be "mounted" as a test. Also, to test that your image is good, did you

do
a GO LICPGM, take option 5, and then select the first option on that
screen
and run through building what licensed programs for the next release?
It
should be able to read the image in the *IMGCLG and select the base
components of of i5/OS, extended base, QGPL, and QUSRSYS. If it does,
you
are reading that image.

As long as you have the PTFs listed (are you coming from V5R4M0 or
V5R4M5 make sure you have the right MF PTFs).

Pete

Subject: Verify IMGCLG Fails

Good Day all,

I am upgrading from V5R4 to V6R1. I have the CD/DVD set ( I_base_01,
B2924_01 and 02, F_multi_NLV ).

I listened to the Common session by Mr Massiello, and went over the
handout.
I have checked the PTF's listed in II14310 ( there is some confusion
between
SI28697 and SI35849).

I loaded the CD/DVD's into the image catalog, went through the 'Prepare
to
Install' options, the images in the catalog look right, software
agreements
all accepted.

When I verify, I get failure. Required image for type *upgrade not found

in
image catalog.
Reason 2 says 'An i5/OS image was not found'

Have I failed to investigate the PTF's completely?

When I tried to ptf copy SI35849 ( I already have SI28697 and the other
2
listed on II 14310 ) , it will not copy with the msg, either the PTF is
already applied or the requisite product is not installed.

I'm sure it is just a step in the process that I am not getting.
