You ever upgraded a system from 540 to 545? Yes, it's more time than a
cume (a recent one anyway) but not nearly as much time as 530 to 540.

And as far as avoiding the ptf problem, with a recent RESAVE the hope is
that the ptf would be applied or superceeded in the base and therefore
it's application would be a non issue.
Yes, resaves are often done because they are required because of new
hardware. But, I've had enough upgrades go bad just because I had an
older save and the newer save would have avoided the issue. One recent
issue is something getting damaged between the time of the OS upgrade and
the installation of the first cume. Which I do pretty much do back to
back. The ONLY way to avoid that is by a resave.
