I guess one option that will not need changes - we hope - is to ask MKS to create a *MODULE - not a *PGM - from your CLLE source - then it should use the CRTCLMOD command - there has to be a way to to that - followed by a CRTPGM. Now that does not require a change to MKS itself - it might require a change to the object type for your CL program - of whatever stripe!! Does that dreaded red tape apply when you want to change the object type?

And as I have previously written, I know that I am going to be asked why
cant I just call a new RPGLE program that uses this subprocedure to return
the value that I want into the CLLE program
