So how do you recommend IBM correct this?
Add an additional H spec to generate the abort?
Change the compilation default to generate the abort, with the additional
H spec to override it?

I doubt that it is reasonable to change the language now. I just want
to emphasize that NULL is nothing at all. No attempt to use the "value"
of a NULL can lead to anything good.
