I understand what Eric is saying about being able to use %nullind on
variables other than database fields. That would be nice.

And, perhaps this also has merit.

So how do you recommend IBM correct this?
Add an additional H spec to generate the abort?
Change the compilation default to generate the abort, with the additional
H spec to override it?
