A user got hold of a DOS utility XTREE I think and was so
chuffed about its undelete function that he decided to delete
a whole bunch of system files. The undelete however required
that the first character of the file name be rekeyed. He then
spent the rest of the week trying to revover all the files by
comparing the file names on another PC.When he contacted the
I.T. department he tried to pass off the problem as some sort of
system glitch. We had to reformat his disk and reinstall the OS.
Of course he had no data backups.
