Re: IBM CPU Hardware Maintenance, Policy on Phasing-out support on old machines

fixed

2008/7/15 Raymond Meade <paulwmeadeagency@xxxxxxxxx>:
Do you know or know anybody that is generally aware of IBM's policy as it relates to the phasing out of IBM hardware maintenance support on IBM CPU's?

As far as i know, they just jack up the prices till infinity, which
makes it the better idea to just buy a newer machine.

We have many customers that are currently on a model 800 or similar
outdated hardware and in the P10/P20 tier. With a M15 or M25, they can
get down to P05/P10 and save a lot on HWMA too. Usually, the new
machine is paid for in one or two years. All the while you get newer
hardware and more performance.
