Joe,

I would put the Twinax card in position C06, the Communication (2793
or 2791 type of card would have the four lights on it in one corner) card
would go above that in C07, and I would have the Ethernet in C02. That is
how we have all our 270s set. Because any of those 3 cards could be a
console (twinax, Direct Ops Console, and Ethernet Ops Console).

I would also assume that if you have Twinax Console, that its
connected to Port 0 on the Twinax hub, and the Twinax terminal is at Switch
Setting Zero.

Pete

What model is it, if this is the same machine from about a month ago
when you were discussing disks, then it's a 270. What is the location of
your cards in the CEC? Specifically, the Twinax card and the Ethernet
Card?

Wow, does that make a difference, Pete? Looking at the back of the machine,
the twinax card is the bottom-most card, with the Ethernet right above it.
Are you implying that perhaps switching these two might change how the
system finds its console???

Oh, now THAT would be a fun thing to try... I'm actually planning to head
out with my little guy, so I don't have time to try this out this second,
but when I get back later this afternoon I might want to try this.

I also need to stick the old drives back in and IPL off the B side to make
sure they still come up.

Joe
