if you are using select * and the file changes(column addition, etc.)
you'll like have to recompile...especially if you are using internal DSes.
with external DS based on the file you are selecting from a recompile is
all that is necessary. with internal DS you'll have to add the new column
to the DS or you'll get some SQL errors....

So I've learned that SELECT * doesn't have to mean a recompile, but I
think I'll still continue
specifying specific columns names in most cases.

I agree it's good practice to select only the columns you need, just
wanted to make sure I'd not missed something else. Thanks for testing
it.
