Well, I'm not sure why you're getting a huge delay.  I'll try VERY hard not
to let it be a way to vent about SQL <grin>.  But try this instead:

With T1 as 
(Select RHITEM From dbmstf.DMRECHST
 Group By RHITEM
 Having Min(RHSYSD) = '2006-06-22')
Select DMITMMST.* From
 T1 join DMITMMST where RHITEM = ITNBR
Order by WHSLC, ITNBR

This will build a temporary table with just the RHITEMs with a minimum date
of today, and then join that to the item master.

Oooh.  I tried this in iNav and it ran for about 10 minutes:

Select * from dbmstf.DMITMMST
Where ITNBR in
(Select RHITEM From dbmstf.DMRECHST
 Group By RHITEM
 Having Min(RHSYSD) = '2006-06-22')
Order By WHSLC, ITNBR
