Looks like this command does the trick when adding an image catalog entry direct from the CD:

ADDIMGCLGE IMGCLG(YourImageCatalogNameHere) FROMDEV(OPT01)

Nothing else to specify.  It creates an IFS entry like so:

Directory . . . . : /fixes Type options, press Enter. 2=Edit 3=Copy 4=Remove 5=Display 7=Rename 8=Display attributes 11=Change current directory ... Opt Object link Type Attribute Text C6152017_02 STMF So, just stuff them in the drive and run the ADDIMGCLGE command for each CD. Done!
