Hi Paul

As a first thing to try, there is a procedure you can use to reset the Ops Console comms line.

Using the control panel on the box:

- Put the system into manual mode
- Use the Up and down buttons to select function 25
- Press the enter button
- Use the Up button to select function 26
- Press the enter button
- Press the Down button to select function 65
- Press enter

You should now get a code on the control panel: D1008065 indicating the ops console comms adapter has been de-activated

To reactivate the adapter

- Use the down button to select function 66
- Press the enter button

If the system successfully initializes the line code D1008066 will appear in the control panel after a few minutes. From experience a little patience here can be useful.

From the Info Center I was (eventually) able to obtain this link for troubleshooting Operations Console problems which may be helpful as it contains suggestions for a number of different possible problems.

Hope this helps

I can't seem to find anything in the archives on this.

On Friday night, we rebooted our 520 as part of the weekly backup. On
Saturday, we discovered that the Ops Console could not connect into the
system. We decided to disconnect and reconnect. As the disconnect was
taking place, the laptop showed us one of those wonderful Windos error
messages about memory addresses. We clicked OK and tried to reconnect
again.

No luck, so we rebooted the laptop. Still no luck. All we get is the
message that the ops console is trying to connect. Any ideas as to what got
blown up here?

Thanks.
