Ron,

He's not the only one that's really deeply disturbed by this "drawing."

I've historically had great respect for Quadrant, their products and people. This "drawing" just was something I didn't expect from them. Granted, the old addage of "if it sounds too good to be true..." is something I was warned about by some of my associates before the "drawing"...but, I was just hoping that some lucky schmuck would come out a winner, and preferably not me. I don't think alot of people will forget this "drawing" anytime soon.

One point needs to be made, as much as it may piss some people off. The Quadrant "drawing" was paid for and scheduled at least 4 MONTHS BEFORE the events they conflicted with were scheduled. Why/how the conflict happened in scheduling, I don't know and am happy to let the parties resolve internally. And, yes, the events it conflicted with were really good ones.

Now, on to Minneapolis....brass monkeys optional...

Re: COMMON Update... - the Porsche give-away?

I think that this was a first class disaster for all:

COMMON
Attendees
Speakers whose sessions it ruined
Quadrant

The room was too way small, and probably illegal. The company generally
deceived us that there was a car to be won.

IMHO, they did damage to their reputation.

Does anyone else think that Quadrant was less than fully honest about this
give-away?

I thought it seemed very deceptive in the way it was advertized as
compared to the way it was really handled.

I was going to be seriously considering their software, but now I'm
wondering if I really want to do business with a company that does
something like this.
