welll....considering that Oracle apps are kinda hooked to the database....But, you did hit on a point that Oracle/Ellison totally understands in spade - APPLICATIONS DRIVE SYSTEM SALES... This is one of the reasons he's buying up so many vendors. A database engine and hardware set without applications is DEAD...
