That's the first time I've heard of restoring logicals in a particular order. You don't have any control over the order in which they are saved, so I would think that the time involved in tape movement to restore in a particular order would negate any time "savings". Are you saving access paths when you do your backups? If yes, the restores will go much faster. Of course, the saves will take a little longer, but having the access paths is worth the extra time.
