If SI09377 has not been previously applied, and it's special instructions performed, then you need to perform the special instructions associated with it as you apply SI09498. Any other interpretation is wishful thinking. Other intrepretation is that if SI09377 was never applied/removed then ignore "SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI09377". IE: In "SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI09377" does "THIS PTF" mean SI09498 or SI09377? Jerry PTF/FIX #: SI09498 - Operating System/400 LICENSED PROGRAM: 5722SS1 SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS : ---------------------- ******************************************************************** THE FOLLOWING ARE SUPERSEDED SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. IF THE SUPERSEDED PTF HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED AND ITS SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOLLOWED, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AGAIN. ******************************************************************** SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI09377 : ================================================= If this PTF is applied or removed as a "Delayed" PTF, which requires an IPL, no special consideration is necessary. If this PTF is applied or removed "Immediate", this should be done in restricted mode (apply the PTF from the system console after ending all of the subsystems). -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
