Keith,

Do you know if the 3581 can store the cleaning cartridge too ?

We have had ours for a year and have not been promoted for a cleaning. One
of the MANY differences between it and that horrible 9427-210 8mm Cartridge
Tape unit that I inherited here (on a 620 that has since been replaced by an
810) :-) It could house a cleaning cartridge and used it on a fairly regular
basis...

Thanks,

Chuck

Jeff,

Yes, the 3582-L23 can store the cleaning cartridges. We have one in the
system, and to my knowledge it has yet to be used. The manual did say it
was not something to be done on a regular basis, but only when the drive
indicates that it needs to be cleaned. So far no cleaning required
messages, no orange lights, no media errors. We have had this drive since
it was first available.

HTH,
