More memory always helps, but 512 should be enough, especially if you are
just doing iSeries coding. If you need to use the WebSphere Test
Environment to run web applications, more memory would help.

The feature you have seen when minimizing the application is a
Windows-specific feature and doesn't have anything specifically to do with
WDSC or the JVM.

        Subject: WDSC Memory Usage

Looking at the Windows Task Manager, my memory usage for WDSC varies from
100Meg to 150Meg or more. When I minimize the WDSC window, the memory
usage
drops immediately to 1 or 2 Meg. When I restore the window, the memory
usage
gradually moves back up, but sometimes I'm blocked from doing anything
within WDSC until the necessary code has been "swapped back in".

Do I just need more memory in my PC (currently have 512Meg) or are there
any
adjustments I can do to the JVM settings?

Thanks,
Richard
