Is there a way to place comment statements in an SQL source member so that when it is run via the RUNSQLSTM command, it won't generate errors? I use a source type of 'txt' for my sql statments. They aren't very complex, usually just for quick fixes, but I'd like to be able to comment within the source member. Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year !! -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of midrange-l-request@midrange.com Sent: Wednesday, January 01, 2003 4:36 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: MIDRANGE-L digest, Vol 1 #3069 - 5 msgs Send MIDRANGE-L mailing list submissions to midrange-l@midrange.com To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to midrange-l-request@midrange.com You can reach the person managing the list at midrange-l-admin@midrange.com When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of MIDRANGE-L digest..." It wouldn't surprise me. Quality has improved dramatically, either through better drives or more accepting microcode parms. Do let us know what it was. I'm no CE, and I can't examine the machine, but I still have my bet on the new drive being bad, assuming that all procedures and processes are being completed in the correct fashion, which is how it sounds so far. That's an interesting number of failure in an iSeries 400 environment. I have only seen 1 failed disk since I stated on 400 in 1990 and it was mid 2002. I will keep all posted. Reply-To: midrange-l@midrange.com An old Sys/36 printer was replaced by a new IBM printer 3 years ago. It is not in the same place I am so I can't just walk over and look at it. WRKDEVD says the printer is a 4234 printer. Can this be so? I have the feeling that this printer is in fact far more capable than a 4234 printer but was configured as a 4234 to insure no problems with the Sys/36 applications still running on the iSeries. What has started me on this issue is that I wish to print 12 cpi and I am getting hardware halts saying that 12 cpi is unsupported. I can not believe a brand new printer manufactured by IBM in 1999 is incapable of printing 12 cpi. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even "RTFM" if you d also tell me which manual. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@MartinVT.com --------------------------------------------------------- --__--__-- Message: 5 From: "Andy Nolen-Parkhouse" <aparkhouse@attbi.com> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Subject: RE: How do I find the model of a Printer? Date: Wed, 1 Jan 2003 16:35:32 -0500 Reply-To: midrange-l@midrange.com Booth, The last 4234 was withdrawn from marketing in 1994, according to IBM's sales manual. So I would imagine that your assumption is correct and that it was configured as it was to maintain compatibility with the S/36 software. To confuse things further, I believe that all of the 4234 printers supported 12 CPI, so the AS/400 drivers should allow this. You may need to redefine the printer on the AS/400 or you may need to reconfigure the printer at its control panel. Unless you can locate some shipping or order documents which would list the model, I can't think of how to determine this information without having someone look at the machine. It's hard to RTFM when you don't know the model.
