Even an abstract, high-level discussion eventually leads to a comparison of
implementations.  Which, in my mind at least, is a good thing.

Some years ago when technologists began discussing object orientation in
terms of inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation, I'd be lost in a sea
of incomprehension.  However, after vendors began implementing the concepts,
I learned quickly.
