We investigated this (some time ago) and found it to be *VERYEXPENSIVE.

Keep in mind that the reason why you buy an AS/400 is to get one integrated
product from one vendor, and when it breaks, you have one finger to point
in one direction. As you start to add other things into the mix, you add
complexity and uncertainty.

Today, you can move a switchable IOP from SST or OPs Nav. Our product
(APRM) will have a move-IOP command later this summer, as IBM sells a PRPQ
that does the same, all of which run only in the primary partition.

Is there anything like a switchbox for SCSI?
