Three ways to go: Used 170's (very cheap at the moment) New 250's (fairly cheap) Remote controllers at each branch and a connection back to a larger box. The web "might" be a way to go, but I'm not 100% on the "up time" that you require. If the branches can put up with unscheduled "down time", the web is a choice. The most problem free method is a dedicated line. IF the existing code meets your needs, then I like the following: Conversion to RPG/400 while not easy, isn't really rocket science. I would move to either of the above boxes and recompile in the S36ee, which works just fine. I recommend that, due to the major rewrite involved in OCL to CLP.... Start your migration to native at a more controlled pace... The S36EE on the newer boxes really runs quite well, and this would be a fairly easy migration. PC's are not an option from my stand point.
