>As others have stated, and I've seen it too, >there are numerous canned packages out there >which allow you to control which fields to >put on the screen. Ours does it as well, just not completely dynamically. We have a series of table set-ups that you (as a company) can configure things the way you (as a company) want them to look, with restrictions related to data integrity. The original question sounded like it was akin to Lotus 1-2-3 where each end user had free reign as to what she can see and where she wants to see it. That's why I still don't think I understand the question, and why I seem stuck on the underlying business logic. Perhaps something as complex as Erros' package can dynamically link user-defined display fields to user-defined business logic, but that's not how most packages work. We sell the business logic and wrap the presentation around the needs of the logic. Sticking with the name and address scenario, we could in fact have hooks to WorksRight or Group One to validate the city and state given a ZIP code, but we would have to write the underlying logic to allow BOTH possibilities; either we validate or the 3rd party vendor validates. We can base the choice of logic on table set-up, and of course the presentation would follow the logic. So the company can affect the way the screen looks, but it isn't really dynamic. --buck
