I hope it's not too late to toss in a couple of observations on this totally
irrelevant topic to this list. :)

Lou has a point.  All too many web designers are like an adolescent who
discovered a new body part to play with.  And, oh, how they do like to abuse it!

The same can be said of the providers of the "standards".

Just so that you all know, I still use NS 4.7x and will for as long as I can.
Yes, there was a day when NS "forced" new standards like tables or frames.  The
standards committee, like most committees, look too long to get off the pot to
make a decision.  But, when "standards" only work for a given browser under a
given OS, it is no longer a browser issue.  It's now an OS predator issue.

BTW, I always get a chuckle out of the "popularity" arguement because it reminds
me of Susan from high school.  She, too, was "popular" with 90% of the guys.
