This is a multipart message in MIME format.

Thanks for the research.

As far as being dangerous, if they already have access to the data to
where that command can hose them up, then there are several 'traditional'
ways to hose yourself up. Let us shoot our ownselves in the foot.

Maybe that is just going back to the mentality that only DB2 data is vital
and we can delete all PC and Unix data in the organization and not bat an
eye.

I already use a number of IFS commands in the QSYS.LIB file system. After
all, CHGOWN has a wildcard, CHGOBJOWN does not.

Actually I was just trying out that theory.....using grep/tail.
Doesn't seem to work for files in the QSYS.LIB file system.

STRQSH
cd ..
cd QSYS.LIB/PRODFILE.LIB

tail DSIPICKS.FILE
tail: 001-2104 Error found reading from file DSIPICKS.FILE. Operation not
supported.

grep -c 'CUSHION' DSIPICKS.FILE
0 <zero returned>

Too bad really. But I sure understand why IBM wouldn't allow
things like this -- potentially very dangerous.....
