I think anybody interested in WWW issues knows some HTML and has a nodding acquaintance with JavaScript; some might have even tangled with the CCP-like HTTP API's. JSP's are a little more mysterious (to me, anyway); maybe it's because I haven't pursued getting myself educated. Brad and Joe, why don't you agree on a common application to code, code it using your preferred techniques, and make your working examples available to the rest of us? First agree on the HTML "look" and then have at the application using your best techniques. A customer master entry/update program, perhaps, with error messages handling, soft-coded values for various status fields, and a multi-screen inquiry program might be representative examples. I have a pretty good idea of what a classic RPG/HTML application might look like (having already done my own), although Brad would likely provide several new concepts and methodologies (his book is great). The JSP-replacing-DDS concept is provocative and seeing an example of Joe's code would be a real education. Most of us will end up tinkering with the code in an attempt to sharpen our skills. These examples won't end the argument, of course...you'll just have more allies! Regards, RF
