  The geezer iz right, it does. And it must be a FAST card (ie 10/100 or
4/16/100 TR) Despite the fact that it will be supporting a single
device.

  Gonna cost you another slot when you figger out that TWO 10/100 cards
can't run on the same IOP! And if you want Full console support you
still need the ops console cable and the remote control panel cable
because LAN console is not complete!

  I'd say save LAN console for LPARs.
