Carl,

The worst thing about a discussion on taxes is that it usually talks about
income tax or sales tax only.  You're right, you have to add up ALL of the
taxes.  Payroll taxes, income taxes, wage priviledge tax, per-capita tax,
capital gains taxes, taxes on your phone bill, property taxes, taxes on your
cable bill, taxes on all of the utility bills, --- egad.  It's disgusting
enough to make you jump off a bridge.  Makes the so-called highly-taxed
Sweden look like a tax haven!
