This is very, very, very true.  I frequently find myself feeling like
crap because of one little problem in the 5,000 programs I'm currently
maintaining.

And not only this, but everyone thinks that THEIR task is the most
important, and they'll agree that "XXX is really important, and you need
to get that done"  but it's always "but do this real quick, first".

Almost every day my boss comes in and gives me two or three new projects
and in the same breath asks why I'm not devoting more time to something
else.  Well... maybe, just MAYBE, it's because you keep giving me other
stuff to do FIRST!

I can't tell you how nice it is to hear that I'm not alone in having to
put up with this stress!
