If you have the C compiler, there is an SQL function that will generate a 
sequence in 
the SQL programmers guide.  If you do not have the C compiler, I could send you 
an 
RPGIV version.  If this is a one time shot, I would write a program or do two 
passes.  I 
also don't understand why you would want to do this, if you want a unique key, 
I would 
retrieve an external sequence, or a time stamp.

etc.


Can Query/400 do this?  Can SQL do this?  Or must I write an RPG pgm?
