We've always done it ourselves.  However we had upwards of 19 AS/400's 
and we figured the knowledge of doing it ourselves allowed us to reuse 
the knowledge when we did the next 400.  Flex time reduced the cost.  Of 
course, that entails lost project time.  Then again, you get some cleanup 
done.  There has been several companies in our area that just hired it out 
to IBM.  Kept those CE's busy.  I don't know their satisfaction level.

Length of time varies greatly depending on enough numerous factors to make a 
great disclaimer for IBM.

We've done side-by-side, unload/reload, etc.

CISC to RISC  Conversion.

              Can anyone who has converted  from CISC to RISC comment
briefly on how difficult/easy this was.  Did you do the migration yourself
or did you have someone else do it for you i.e I.B.M     How long did it
take .
