By the way the AS/400 handles display screens and since
everything seems to be pretty much fixed in length, if it currently
shows as a 2 digit year I am 99.44% positive it will still show
as a 2 digit year come January 1st, 2000.

So, my answer is, it's going to stay a 2 digit year.

I can state this with almost absolute certainty, just because of
the way the AS/400 works and the way it's programmed.
