Sandi,

One trick we do here is to use opnqryf in the cl. We select and sort the
data then cpyfrmqryf to qtemp creating the file. Then run query pointing
the query to the qtemp version of the file. You can remove the sort and
selects from the query. I have found that it is simple and strait forward
and does not use much more resources than selecting and sorting the data
within the query.

Good luck

Subject: AS400 Query - Passing info from CL program?

Anyone,

Is there a way to pass info from a CL program to a Query?

We would like to run a scheduled Query (at night), with
info passed from a CL program (date range) into the Query,
record select, so that there is no operator intervention.

    New at AS400, & CL.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sandi
