Please bear in mind that Mindspring had some problems with connection 
reliability when they acquired PSInet. At the time, and this was at least a 
year ago, if you were on the Mindspring network then you had a reliable 
connection but if you were on the PSInet newtwork then you had an 
unreliable connection.  I hope that this has changed since.  There are 
numerous sites on the web that contain ISP user satisfaction ratings.
