You must forego more than host linkage.  From the evalution package README
file:


 Usage Restrictions

 While using this evaluation copy of the product, you are restricted to

 o 500 host file opens from the editor
 o 200 host database-file accesses by VARPG runtime applications
 o No Service Packs can be applied.
 o English language only.


Lack of service pack support would certainly be a killer, although you
might be lucky and last for an OS upgrade or two.

Do you have any idea what IBM's official take is on this?  Do they
really not terribly mind if people download the evaluation and use if
"forever" if they are willing to forego the host linkage?

Seems like this might have been an oversight in how the evaluation
copy was packaged.
