First, keep in mind that my APPC experience has been PC to AS/400.
 Not AS/400 to AS/400.

It looks like the configuration is correct. Eg: On SYSA, everything
references SYSB. On SYSB, everything references SYSA.

On the starting system, do you specify the other system as the
RMTLOCNAME?

On the target system, you probably should use RMTLOCNAME(*REQUESTER).
 This may be the problem.

Is SYSA the source and SYSB the target? Which system are you getting
the error on?

For debuging/tracing, the trick I use is:

a) Have a data area...call it MYTRACE.
b) You probably already have a CL wrapper (which should be specified
on the EVOKE statement). In this CL, retrieve the data area.
c) If it is a "S" (stop), issue a SNDUSRMSG MSGTYPE(*INQ). This will
cause the job to hang. Giving you a chance to do STRSRVJOB and STRDBG
if you want.
d) If it is a "T" (trace), do a TRCICF SET(*ON) MAXSTG(5000)
e) Do other stuff and call your actual transaction program.
f) After the transaction pgm exits, if the dtaara was a "T", do TRCICF
SET(*OFF) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(MYICFTRACE).

When you want stuff to run "normal", leave the dtaara blank. When you
need to debug, set it to a T or S. And you can leave this code in
your production release as it has no impact on anything unless you set
the dtaara.

Bob Crothers

To simplify, I worked with 2 AS/400 systems, but I still seem to have
the
problem in my (APPC now!) program. I have two AS/400 systems
connected thru
APPC. Here is how it is :

SYSA :

Devd - SYSB, catagory - *APPC, Ctld - SYSB, remote location - SYSB,
local
location - *NETATR

CL - OVRICFDEVE PGMDEV(SYSB) RMTLOCNAME(SYSB) FMTSLT(*PGM)
RPG - 'SYSB' ACQ DSPFFILE

SYSB :

Devd - SYSA, catagory - *APPC, Ctld - SYSA, remote location - SYSA,
local
location - *NETATR

During ACQ, I have the problem 'Program Device SYSB not found!' (Major
code
82). Could you please help me figure out what I could be doing wrong
here?

Thanks,
Sudha
