James, The TCP/IP implementation on the AS/400 was initially shipped in V1R2+. It has the TCP/IP stack, PING, FTP and SMTP at that time. It was updated in V1R3 with TELNET and NETSTAT and a few other functions. It has continued to be enhanced and improved each release. The problem is finding someone who has a copy of the v2r3 TCP/IP product - there was a charge at that time for it based on processor size. Best thing I can say is - contact IBM and see if they still have it available!
