Dean,

You starting with the cars again !

Well, if you want a car with a computer that's reliable - buy a SAAB.
Besides, they have direct ignition and no spark plug wires to fry !
SAAB also builds jet fighter aircraft, so they understand the importance
of having a reliable computer managing things.
They also understand the importance of running their business on a
reliable system - which is why they use AS/400.

Go to http://www.informationweek.com and select "Search".
Enter "Saab" for the search query. You'll see three hits all from the
Jan 26/98 Information Week regarding Saab.
First article is "Saab's Driving Force - Carmaker centralizes customer
data for dealers". The second article is titled "Saab Adds Gas To
Dealer Network", and the third one, "Vendors steer Saab intranet project
rollout". All three articles mention AS/400 (along with Lotus Domino -
which it says Saab will move to release 4.6 on the AS/400).
