I'm very new to the world of CL and RPG,
but need to setup a menu where
a user inputs a query range and the input
is passed to a preset query
I've written. I don't want to give the
users full query access, but I
don't know any RPG and can't write a report
generating program to extrac
the data out of our accounting program.

          ----------------

The RUNQRY command has an option RCDSLT -
*YES in this option displays *ONLY the
query selection parameters screen (same one
the developer sees through WRKQRY.) From
there, any valid selection criteria can be
entered (default criteria is whatever's
saved in the query itself). Restrict
access to WRKQRY to yourself & whatever
developers and give the users access to
RUNQRY instead - depending on the
sophistication of your user community, this
could be a vary simple solution.
