I don't know what version you tried, but it must have been version 1 of
the original OS/2 VRPG. Local file support has been available in all
versions since then. Current support is for flat files accessed
sequentially or via RRN. You can also use imbedded SQL to access a DB/2
database (and anything that can hook to) plus of course any PC file
system that provides APIs.
