Midrange Computing is in the process of publishing a book that includes the
things you mentioned. It also includes RPG IV stuff. On the other hand,
they have a very good selling book on AS/400. "The AS/400 Owner's Manual"

Check it out at:

http://www.midrangecomputing.com/mcprods/books/568.htm

NEWS/400 also has a beginner book, but I don't know if the last update is
in this decade.

If you go to my web site and click on AS/400 Book, you get a list of some
books that contain web links to the publishers. For NEWS/400 books, they
have a web set that doesn't lend itself to link references too well. So go
to my site, which is:

http://www.rpgiv.com/as400books.html

Then click on the NEWS/400 link. At that point you'll have a list of most
NEWS400 book categories. I think the "Text Books" link on that NEWS'400
page lists the book you may want.
