I just tried it, and I got the same results that you did.  Same errors,etc

It appears that half of my last commit got cut off.  Maybe ssh got cut off
in the middle of the update, or something, and I didn't notice.  At any
rate, the 0.16 branch was correct, but the 0.17 branch was messed up.

I went ahead and fixed the sources in the CVS repo.  If you do a fresh
checkout after 15:00 UTC -0500 today, you should get the correct sources.

So, try it again, and let me know!  Thanks for pointing out the problem!
