P.S. Check out the NetBeans 6.7 release candidate, it's more awesomer...
especially for Java :P

Could you be a bit more specific? :-)

It's just awesome, dude! Oh, *specific*...

I'm currently looking at Eclipse
3.5 RC3 (the JEE version which we use is now available) and the killer
feature for us there is the ability to generate an executable jar with
dependent jars nicely packaged next to the jar and the manifest
Class-Path set up correctly. It is SO nice :)

NetBeans does the same. Speaking of standalone (console or GUI)
programs, in the project directory is a dist/ subdirectory where your
jar gets created. He also puts a lib/ directory in there with all the
jars you specified in the project's settings. The manifest is also
written to the jar with the classpath and main class set up correctly.

I'd love to hear about what NetBeans can do for us :-D

The database explorer works great with AS/400s :) I often debug by
setting a breakpoint and then pasting generated SQL from the debugger
into the database explorer.

The main selling point of NetBeans (aside from the fact that it's native
Java and not SWT) is that there's more available to you out of the box
than there is with Eclipse. For example, no hunting around for plugins
to start writing even enterprise web apps (EJB &c.), it's just there.
Supported servers include various versions of GlassFish, Tomcat,
WebLogic, and WebSphere.

Supported languages besides Java include C/C++, Ruby, Python, and PHP.
