Peggy !

You mention two VERY good products Impromptu/PowerPlay from Cognos and ShowCase
Strategy from Showcase Corporation and BOTH of these companies had their
products
available when SSA went down the misguided LooserVision path. I was working at a
company at the time it FIRST came out and we were working CLOSELY with the
developers and it was a NIGHTMARE. The folks we worked with were great but the
product was a mess. This is a PERFECT example of one of SSA's misguided steps
away
from what they KNOW/KNEW. Why in the WORLD would they try and tackle a project
like
this when it had NOTHING to do with their core business and others were uniquely
positioned to provide superior tools. They were WAY too small of a company to
try
and bite something like this off. True they COULD have possibly made money on
it if
it hadn't stumbled so badly. This is one example of many as to what has gotten
SSA
into the fix they are in now...

JMHO, :-)
