Thanks Brad,
So would you say a "web hook" is synonymous with "rest api" ?
I think once I understand what a web hook is the closer I will be to
identifying how best to process it,
Our requirement is to be notified when a new entity is added to a
database, (not on the IBMi) the web hook will notify us the ID of the new
entity and we will then retrieve more information about that entity
through existing back end processes.
Would you call your http://bvsdemo.bvstools.com/cgi-bin/json1 a web hook ?
Thanks

IWS should do the job since the webhook is just making an HTTP/S request.
It all depends on what you're comfortable with and what the webhook will
be
doing in the background when received. IWS, Node, Apache/CGI will all
work
fine as long as you know how to configure the server (and most likely SSL
for it) and map requests through your firewall to the IBM i.

I am working on a new project and the supplier said they can notify me
using a “web hook”
After some googling I see this is basically a http post request.
Ok great. Is this something I can create/setup using IWS ?
Or anyone that has used webhooks on IBMi
Appreciate any suggestions
