The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Hi Richard. We do use Node.js, and we did consider using QShell to call a Node.js script, then have the Node.js script put the data into a physical file, data area, data queue, etc. We just felt this approach was clunky and wanted some options.
BTW - we are keeping an eye on the Mono port to PASE. One of the advantages claimed for Node.js is that you can use the same language (JavaScript) to develop the front-end and the back-end of apps. Assuming Mono will be able to tie into the new ODBC connector and Toolkit, so it can access ILE programs and DB2 files, then one could use a .NET language (e.g., C#) to develop the front-end and back-end of apps.

If you're in to doing something new, Python, Rudy, Node, PHP, Java and C# can all be used to consume REST APIs and pipe the data to an IFS file or PF for consumption.
For .Net and Python I have provided CL command wrappers on github that make it drop dead simple.
