Yes, can you confirm which article again? As Kevin indicated, the article
he mentions expects the data in the path. This is shown i Table 2, where
you see the URI as:

../ftoc/{temp}

The {temp} is a place holder for the temperature. If you want to know more
about path templates, see Figure 29 on page 70 of the IWS administration
and programming guide, found at the web site at
http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg3T1026868

And since 7.1 HTTP group PTFs are no longer refreshed, there have been
PTFs released that are not in the HTTP group for 7.1. At the minimum,
ensure you have:

5770DG1-SI67871
5770SS1-SI68604
5770SS1-SI68346
5770SS1-SI68332

The article that was posted in this thread was this one: https://

www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/library/i-rest-web-services-server2/index.html

Step 2-5 figure 10 shows the config for the web service where the it
sets the input source. The screens look a little different on my
box, but all the relevant fields are there.

If you are working from a different walk though then sorry for confusing
you.
