You are doing pretty much what you are doing Steve - and it works just
fine.
This is the equivalent bit of my script.
// Set for e-mail
ini_set ( "SMTP", 'xxx.yy.z.n' );
ini_set ( "sendmail_from", "info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" );
ini_set("smtp_port", "25");//define the receiver of the email
Notice that I am using the IP address of the server because the mail
server's name is not known to my system's DNS.
From the error you are getting it looks like you have the same problem -
try using the IP address instead and see if it works. If it does then you
have a DNS issue - not a php one.
