I know yum as an old package manager for Linux, used to install/update/remove apps.

I wouldn't expect the typical IBMi admin to be familiar with yum.

Okay, yum looks like a command...analogous to npm but not npm. I guess I need to learn something (else) new today. What is yum, exactly? And are my IBM i admins going to know how to run it?
