In your HTTP server setup configuration on your IBM i add a cross origin directive between the <location></location> tags. The asterisk denotes any origin, or you can set to specific URL(s).

By chance, are you trying to invoke an xmlHTTP request against an HTTP
server located on your PC as opposed to sending the request to HTTP server
hosted remotely?
